B Spex Trading Ltd.

B-Spex Trading Ltd. is another car exporter based in Hyogo, Japan. I started working with B-Spex when they had no web solution to their overseas business. Since then I have taken them to where nearly all sales go through the internet systems that I have created for them.

Online Car Auction

The main system is a car auction in which I have created data mining and Japanese translation engine software which I have created using PHP, Ruby and simple bash scripts. The data upload process is completely automated and offers up to 150,000 vehicles per week.

Car dealers can go ahead and bid on each car, which B-Spex then filter and proxy bid on. Cars purchased are then added to the B-Spex stock database from which export and shipping dynamic PDF documentation can be printed out. Dealers accounts are also handled on line with financial information being on hand to B-Spex staff and the dealers online control panel.

Usability

We wanted the system to be as easy to use as possible since many car dealers are not often too tech savvy. We have a very simple sign-up, search and bidding process. We have placed easy to read buttons in obvious locations to save confusion.

I have also created a video tour screen-cast to introduce the system to non-technical people. This can be seen on the website.

Online Marketing

I have used various SEO, Google Adwords/Analytics and usability to promote the website and encourage membership. We have seen over 12,000 signed up members join the system over a short period, which I have been able to get set up on a very small budget.
